TOURIST VISA/ETIAS 

Croatia is part of the Schengen Area. US citizens do not require a visa for stays under 90 days within any 180-day period. Travelers will need to apply for ETIAS travel authorization before departure; this is not a visa; it's a quick online pre-screening (similar to ESTA), costing €20 and valid for up to 3 years. ETIAS has not launched yet; apply only through the official government site once available: travel-europe.europa.eu/en/etias. Avoid third-party sites that charge higher fees before the system is even live; Frontex has flagged over 100 scam sites impersonating ETIAS.
